Why Trivia Night Was Just What the Doctor Ordered

If laughter really is the best medicine, then Trivia Night at Wang Chung’s just cured Monday for everyone. Our April 7 edition—“I’m Not A Doctor”—was part game night, part group therapy, and part pop culture emergency room.

Six full teams packed the bar, each armed with a cocktail and questionable medical knowledge. Team Open Wide, Say AHHHH! took home the win with surgical precision, edging out Turn Your Head and Cough by 4 points. Marcus Welby, M.D. took a respectable third place—honorary stethoscope included.

Questions ranged from: – “Noah Wyle played Dr. Carter on ER set in Chicago and featured many scenes on the city’s elevated train platforms, better known by what single letter?”that’d be L – or “What three-word phrase describes a sports fan who critiques every decision after the fact?” (hello, Monday morning quarterback) – To a three-part round diagnosing famous meltdowns—from Simone Biles’ twisties, to Miss Teen South Carolina’s “such as”, to John Travolta’s “Adele Dazeem” moment.

The winning team chose the ultimate honor: what’s in the box. (Let’s just say it wasn’t a prescription, but it was surprisingly useful —each player left with a bottle of Bayer Aspirin - 325mg.) The second place won the $20!

Trivia nights at Wang Chung’s happen on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month (usually), and next up is April 21 when the theme is SPRING QUEENING! One thing’s for sure: our players always know how to bring the smarts, sass, and well-timed eye rolls.
